Email Setup Instructions

Send and receive email messages through your choice of popular email clients or Jamadots WebMail located on the jamadots.com website. If you choose to use an email client, such as Apple Mail or Microsoft Outlook,  you will need to setup the Authenticated SMTP service using the below instructions. Getting Started – Gathering Basic Information

Before beginning the setup of your email client, there is basic information you should have at-hand in order to complete the setup more easily.  Items needed are listed below and we suggest you keep the information for future reference.

POP vs IMAP:  An IMAP client synchronizes the e-mail on your computer with the contents of your account on the e-mail server, while a POP account simply downloads the inbox.  IMAP synchronizes your computer with the e-mail server.  IMAP is better if you are going to be accessing your email from multiple devices, such as a work computer and a smart phone. POP works better if you are only using one device, but have a very large number of emails. It is also better if you have a poor internet connection and need to access your emails offline.
